24 - 22 June 2016

Grosvenor Gallery is pleased to announce its upcoming exhibition, William Dalrymple: The Writer's Eye. The exhibition will open with a private view on Thursday,

23 June 2016, 6-8pm at our new address on 32 St. James's Street. The preview will coincide with a Book Launch of The Writer's Eye, published by HarperCollins India.

There will also be walkthrough of the exhibition and book signing by William Dalrymple on Saturday, 25th June at 2:30pm.

The Writer's Eye is part of a travelling exhibition of photographs which has already been exhibited at Sunaparanta: Goa Centre for the Arts and Vadehra Art Gallery, New Delhi in March 2016.

In a suite of black and white photographs, shot over two years, William Dalrymple brings elegance, inquiry and grace to the photographic form. Powerful and precise, the pictures in The Writer's Eye are documents of landscape, conveying potent solitude and brooding strokes. The beloved author of scores of acclaimed books returns to a visual medium he first worked with in collegiate days, armed now with over two decades of writerly composure and brilliance.

The exhibition is curated by bestselling writer and Sensorium Festival co-founder, Siddharth Dhanvant Shanghvi. The Writer's Eye marks the public debut of a gifted visual artist.

This exhibition is accompanied by a limited edition book published by HarperCollins India, with an essay and photographs by William Dalrymple and an introduction by Siddharth Dhanvant Shanghvi. Produced under the guidance of HC CEO Ananth Padmanabhan, this special book marks the first time a major publishing house has confirmed tremendous support to an art show, highlighting the emerging partnership between the arts and publishing models.

The photographs are all from an edition of 8 + 2AP and range in price from £220 - £500.

The Exhibition continues at the gallery till 22 July 2016.
