This is one of a number of recorded views from their series “Indian Scenery”, the source print for which first appeared in Charles Ramus Forrest’s “A Picturesque Tour Along the Rivers Ganges and Jumna in India”, published in 1824. The reverse with underglaze blue printed Title, SURSEYA GHAUT KHANPORE and Maker’s Mark, T & B G within a floral cartouche.
