*Evening of the restless spirits.
In my childhood there was a big tree near our house which could be seen from the roof. We as kids used to go there and play under the tree and around it.
My grandmother used to say that old spirits, ghosts and fairies live on that tree.. you must come back before the sunset as when darkness grows these spirits wake up and they can possess young childern and can harm them badly. She had many stories about it. To me this image is about the idea of alienation, it’s pain and later It is also about the acceptance of one’s differentness.
First I titled it as.. ‘A ghost among ghosts’ but later changed it as it sounded a bit hard to me. The red tree, in my mind, resembles to human heart somehow, especially the upper part with the thick and thin branches.
