The reverse bearing the impressed Maker’s Mark, ROGERS, together with the underglaze blue printed numeral 1. The pattern is illustrated, (Plate 2 – 14) in Michael Sack’s “India on Transferware” (2009), is known to be a view entitled “Remains of an Ancient Building near Firoz Shah’s Cotilla, Delhi”, and is based on an aquatint in Thomas Daniell’s “Oriental Scenery (Part 1, 5)” published in 1795.
