COPY NUMBER IX OF 12 SPECIALLY BOUND COPIES WITH AN EXTRA SUITE OF SIGNED PRINTS, INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR TO HILARY GERRARD on front free endpaper ("To Hilary - Best wishes/ Salman Rushdie-/ 8th Dec: 1990"), of an overall edition of 72 copies signed by the author, 8 full-page wood- and linocuts, the extra suite each signed by the artist loose in gate-fold wrappers, original brown goatskin by Romilly Saumaurez Smith, upper cover with a block of 9 square grey-silver morocco onlays each decorated with a gilt oval, t.e.g., housed together in original brown cloth solander box with title label on spine, large 4to (320 x 250mm.)

Hilary Gerrard (1933–2023) worked in the British music industry and was Ringo Star’s manager from the 1970s onwards.
