This work was first made in 1987, from a drawing of 1966, and first shown at the Ikon gallery, Birmingham, in 1987, and then at the Hayward Gallery, London, in 1989-70 as part of ‘The Other Story’. This work wasn’t returned to me by the Hayward, and when I inquired about it I was told they didn’t have it and they didn’t know what happened to it, from which I have assumed that it was destroyed. It was re-constructed in Sharjah and shown there as part of my show there in 2014. It is now in Karachi.
